If you vape then you’ve likely already heard about the FDA’s decision to ban flavored vape pods/pod refills but there are a lot of questions that our customers have been asking.

First off, not all pod flavors are included in the ban. For some reason the FDA has excluded tobacco and menthol flavored pods from the ban. One of the most common questions we are hearing is “Will mint flavored pods be banned?” The answer is yes, aside from menthol and tobacco flavors all other flavors will effectively be banned on February 1st, 2020. One of the other questions we’ve been asked is “Will flavored disposable pods be included in the ban?” Unfortunately we don’t know for sure as the FDA’s definition is somewhat vague in their description but we’re currently working directly with them to get this clarified. (Check back on our blog for updates.) Another question we keep hearing is “Are all flavored vape liquids going to be banned?” No, but the answer is a bit tricky. While flavored pods are most certainly included in the ban, traditional vape liquids for open tank vaping devices or mods are not included in any way shape or form in the ban. So, if you like flavored pod vaping then you may want to start looking at mod vaping as it will likely be your only option once the ban takes effect. Finally one of the biggest questions we hear is “Will flavored pods ever be back on the market?” Again, the FDA isn’t being very specific about how manufacturers will be screened for what they are calling “pre-market authorization” meaning they evaluate the marketing of the product, the overall marketing of the company and how rigorously they strive to screen the sale of their product to minors. As previously stated, we’ve reached out the FDA with the questions that we are unable to answer about the ban and will certainly let our customers know just as soon as we do.
